报告人简介:

Professor Dennis Y.C. Leung received his BEng (1982) and PhD (1988) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong.  He had worked with the Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd. for five years heading the air pollution section of the company before joining the University of Hong Kong in 1993. Since then he is very active in conducting research in environmental and energy engineering. Professor Leung is now a full professor of the department specializing in environmental pollution control and renewable & clean energy development. He has published more than 400 articles in this area including 220+ peer reviewed top SCI journal papers.  He was invited to publish more than 20 review articles in leading journals.  His current h-index is 53 with total citations more than 10,000. He is one of the top 1% highly cited scientists in the world in energy field since 2010 (Essential Science Indicators) until now. Professor Leung has delivered more than 50 keynote and invited speeches in many conferences as well as public lectures.  He serves as a chief editor or editorial board member of a number of journals including Frontiers in Environmental Sciences, Applied Energy, Journal of Power & Energy, and Sustainable Energy. He was and is presently serving many governmental committees related to energy and environment as chairman or member. He is a Chartered Engineer and a fellow of several professional institutes including IMechE, Energy Institute and HKIOA.  Professor Leung received numerous awards including the Outstanding Earth Champion Hong Kong award in 2008 in recognizing his contributions in protecting the environment.

Prof. Michael Leung is Professor and Associate Dean in the School of Energy and Environment and Director of Ability R&D Energy Research Centre at City University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, U.S.A. in 1995. He is an Editor in Applied Energy and listed as “Highly cited Scholar in Energy Science and Engineering” by Shanghai Ranking and Elsevier. His current research interests include solar photocatalysis, fuel-cell electrochemistry, advanced refrigeration and air-conditioning, and carbon management. He has published 130+ journal papers, 60+ conference papers, 15 books and book chapters and 6 patents.

Prof. Meng NI studied Aero-engine engineering in China and obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2007. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in HKU, before joining BRE as an Assistant Professor in July 2009. He was promoted to Associate Professor in July 2012 and Professor in July 2016.  Prof Ni is serving as an Associate Head for his department.

Prof. Ni was dedicated to teaching and his Student Feedback Questionnaire (SFQ) scores were within top 10% in the faculty.

Prof. Ni focused his research on solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and other electrochemical systems for energy conversion/storage.  His research has received funding support from HK Research Grant Council (RGC, including GRF, ECS, SFC/RGC joint scheme, and France/HK Joint Scheme), Environmental Conservation Fund (ECF), NSFC, and Innovation Technological Fund (ITF).  He serves as an Associate Editor for 4 journals, an Editorial Board Member for 7 journals, and a reviewer for over 60 journals.  He received the Young Scientist Award from the Hong Kong Institution of Science in 2007.  In 2011, he received “Top Reviewer Award” from Applied Energy (a top Energy Journal).  In June 2016, Prof. Ni was listed in the World’s Highly Cited Researchers in Energy Science and Technology by ShanghaiRanking.  Prof. Ni was awarded the prestigious Humboldt Fellowship in July 2017.  In August 2016, Prof. Ni was awarded “Best Associate Editor Award” by Science Bulletin.
