美国国家科学院院士、加州大学?Mark?Thiemens教授受聘中山大学客座教授聘请仪式暨学术报告会

Mark H. Thiemens教授现任加州大学圣迭哥分校化学/生物化学系杰出教授，物理科学学院院长，2006年被聘为美国国家科学院院士和美国文学与科学院院士。2009 年被聘为中山大学客座教授，2010年被聘为中国教育部长江学者讲座教授, 是稳定同位素非质量分馏效应（Mass-independent Isotope Fractionation）的发现者和相关理论的提出者。该理论被广泛应用于环境变化、生物起源、太阳系起源、行星大气等不同领域的研究，新的应用包括医学、基因工程和纳米材料技术。Thiemens教授已在Science和Nature上发表了23篇论文，并获得多项荣誉，包括美国能源部授予的科学最高荣誉奖Ernest O. Lawrence Medal和地球化学协会授予的最高荣誉奖Goldschmidt Medal。2006年一颗小行星被命名为 (7004) Markthiemens。

Professor H.M. Thiemens is currently a distinguished professor in the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry and Dean of Faculty of Physical Science in University of California, San Diego. He is an elected member of National Academy of Sciences and American Academy Arts and Sciences of U.S.A. and world leader in stable isotope Mass Independent Fractionation theory and its application in atmospheric chemistry especially in physical chemistry of isotope effects and solar system formation. He has received numerical awards and honors for his distinguished research and academic achievements. He has published altogether over 20 Nature and Science papers.
